About us

Coptic Hope Charity serves the less fortunate and underprivileged. Some of you may know that many of our brothers and sisters in Egypt live in remote villages and make up a small segment of their communities. Through the work of Coptic Hope Charity, we can assist to meet the basic needs of Copts in these areas.

 

We strive to aid those who are too elderly or ill. We aim to raise spiritual and intellectual health as well as raising economic circumstances in disadvantaged communities. We aim to provide basic housing needs, healthcare services and health awareness

Vision

We believe that all people are created in the image and likeness of God and are loved equally by Him. We believe all people have a right to the basic necessities of life, such as clean water, food and shelter, as well as opportunities to grow and develop as dignified members of healthy and happy communities.

Mission

Coptic Hope Charity aims to enable access to life essentials to the poor and marginalised following in the footsteps of our Patron Saint, Anba Abraam. The charity supports and develops underprivileged communities around the world, predominantly in Egypt. We strive to improve the conditions of their communities through the provision of:

Our History

We are a non for profit Coptic Orthodox Christian organisation initially formed by a group of volunteers who were inspired by the selfless example set by Bishop Ana Abraam, affectionally known as “Friend of the Poor”. Coptic Hope Charity originally began in 1998 as an organisation named “Anba Abraam Friends of the Poor” with a number of zealous youth who where passionate about assisting the poor and needy.

Coptic Hope Charity (CHC) is a community-based, non-for-profit organisation that was established in 2013.

Committee

We are passionate and determined to change the lives of underprivileged families.

Our committee members volunteer their time to ensure all funds raised are directed towards individuals and families, minimising administration costs.

Ethos

We believe that people have a right to the basic necessities of life, such as clean water, food and shelter, as well as opportunities to grow and develop as dignified members of healthy and happy communities.

Where the money goes

All funds raised by Coptic Hope Charity are for the sole purposes of the services provided by Coptic Hope Charity to serve the poor and in need.
